    WATCH: Akheim Allen-“Memo”

Following his critically-acclaimed recent release ‘WAVS DNT DIE’, London rapper Akheim Allen drops a second heavyweight jam with ‘MEMO’.

Continuing to define himself as one of the brightest emerging new UK rap talents, another innovative, glitchy instrumental serves as a jumpy foundation for Akheim’s hard, skilful lyrical content that continues to mix clout with consciousness and wider wokeness.

Speaking on the track, Akheim states: “It’s a reminder to let people know, who I am and where I’ve come from – it’s not just about where I’m currently at but where I’m heading to. Memo consists of what I like to call ‘aspirational ignorance’ – letting people know even without materialistic things you can still be the best you, none of it defines you.”

Another taste of what’s to be expected sonically from his upcoming EP, ‘MEMO’ continues to impress, with the pinball-esque production as much as Akheim’s clear ease of flow and careful wordplay.

Working already with the likes of Dave East, Avelino and Dreamville’s Ari Lennox, as well as writing with Kojey Radical and Maleek Berry, Akheim is rolling with some of the brightest emerging artists right now and deservedly so: this second instalment will serve as a reminder of the kind of innovative talent Akheim possesses, and points of an exciting new body of work.
