Thrift Shop Junk Reels in Five Figures for Lucky Shopper!

A Netherlands thrifter can now consider himself a “Thousandaire” after his purchase of a painting resells for $34,025.

The painting, priced originally at the thrift store for a mere $85, is an original work by artist Johan Aarts. The lucky shopper who’s been identified as Henk Laarmans, took the painting to art experts at Tussen Kunst and Kitsch for appraisal and discovered its value was worth 400x more than what he paid for.

The painting did eventually get purchased by an unknown Dutch collector.
