Where exactly is R. Kelly??
R. Kelly‘s lawyer is having trouble locating the estranged pedophile. He is currently in federal custody!
“I have not been able to see my client yet to intelligently discuss with him what is to transpire tomorrow, which is something I must be able to do,” attorney Douglas Anton wrote in a letter to federal Magistrate Judge Steven Tiscione late Thursday.
R. Kelly was transported from Chicago to New York on Thursday for the hearing but his attorney, Douglas Anton, says that since then he has been unable to speak to his client.
But Anton complained that he got the run-around from Federal Bureau of Prisons officials as to Kelly’s whereabouts.
“I have spent the hours that followed his landing on the phone with the BOP at both New York MCC and Brooklyn MDC trying to locate my client, but no one would provide that information to me, even recognizing I am his attorney, instead directing me to bop.gov to find out where he would be,” he wrote. “Indeed, it’s 11:00pm now and thebop.gov website still lists this client as being located in Chicago MCC.”
As of Friday morning, online records show Kelly is being housed at the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center.
Anton tried to visit Kelly early Friday, prior to his 10:30 a.m. arraignment.
“We drove all the way to the MDC but we just missed him,” the lawyer said at the courthouse.
If someone is in Federal custody, why is it so hard to locate that person? Something is definitely is smelling fishy… do you think so?
