R. Kelly is in solitary confinement because it isn’t safe for him to be around other inmates.
Kelly was sent back to the slammer after a judge denied his option of bond during a Tuesday hearing. According to judges, Kelly is an endangerment to the community and underage girls. reports Page Six. R. kelly solitary confinement is a form of protection for the singer.
It’s unclear as to when he’ll be released.
For now, though, R. Kelly remains in solitary confinement, where he’s most happy. Though his attorney Nicole Blank Becker does believe that is such a good idea. Nicole fears that Kelly doesn’t have the support system needed to survive the harsh conditions that jail can offer.
She feels that because the R&B singer has difficulty reading and writing that he won’t be able to make the best decisions, especially when it comes to reading his options of the commissary. She also alleges that Kelly will only be given 15 minutes per month to talk to his family and friends, when compared to other inmates in the general population, they get to make calls at any time.
But Kelly does not want to be moved to the general population. Because he is facing criminal sex crimes, he believes he is a target. In his opinion, solitary is his safest option for returning back home in one piece.
Page Six says he is currently fighting a 13-count indictment involving charges that include child porn, enticement of a minor to engage in criminal sexual activity and obstruction of justice.
If the other inmates were to get a hold of him in the general population it could spell out a bad ending for the singer.
It’s a little known fact that other inmates give child predators a hard time.
