    P. Diddy Pays Homage To Black Rob

Diddy Pays Tribute to Black Rob

Diddy, head honcho of Bad Boy Entertainment takes to Instagram to address Black Rob’s recent passing. “Rest in power King!” Combs wrote.

While listening to your music today, I realized something that holds true for all your records. They have all brought joy and made countless people dance worldwide. You are truly unique, and may you be blessed. Lots of love. Your absence will be deeply felt.

Black Rob’s State of Health Captured

Black Rob fans were alarmed by the New York native’s appearance after Power 105.1’s DJ Self captured him on video in a hospital bed, a recording made so he could share his condolences following the death of his fellow emcee, DMX, on April 9.

“I feel everything about X man. X was positive. Love to X,” Black Rob said in an Instagram video.

The rapper who was born Robert Ross, has experienced personal medical issues. Moreover, a video clip released just days before his own passing, he said, “I’ve been dealing with this for five years. Damn. Four strokes, I don’t know what to tell you. This sh– is crazy, this sh– is hard. I don’t have no house to live in. I need some rest, man.”

Did Diddy Have An Obligation to Black Rob?

Diddy received harsh critiques regarding Rob’s medical state. Many wonder what action the mogul takes when rappers leave the label. Nonetheless, others come to Diddy’s defense. In a now-viral Twitter thread, journalist Naima Cochrane, a friend of Black Rob’s, said, “I also wonder why we think Black label heads are beholden to former artists forever. Rob was offered to resign with Bad Boy, he declined bc he didn’t want to come behind French and other newer acts. He’d also been open about how much *he* was wiling at times when signed.”

Furthermore, Cochrane discussed the idea of the creation of a union to care for hip-hop artists who have medical and housing needs after their careers. No Limit Chief Executive Officer Master P supports the idea.

Condolences to Black Rob’s family. Hopefully future artists will receive the help they seek.
