ABOUT MILA J
Mila J, also known as Jamila Akiko Aba Chilombo, is an American singer, songwriter, rapper, and dancer. She hails from Los Angeles and is the older sister of R&B singer Jhéne Aiko. Mila J is recognized for her appearances in Prince’s “Diamonds and Pearls” video and collaborations with artists like RaRa, IMx, Trey Songz, and Omarion.
In 2005, Mila was part of a girl group called Dame Four, along with Tomasina Parrot, Tennille Mathis, and Mercedes Nelson. They released the single “How We Roll,” but the group disbanded shortly after.
In the early 2000s, Mila took a break from the music industry. She had been in several girl groups and felt the need to discover her identity as a solo artist. During the hiatus, she found herself, figured out her artistic direction, and addressed her true self. It was a much-needed break after being in the industry for a while.
