Migos’ New Album Emulates Michael Jordan’s Historic Career Announcement
A press release from Quality Control Music was released in response to questions about Culture III. The Quavo, Offset and Takeoff’s statement simply says, “June 11th. We’re Back.”
The format of the album pays homage to Michael Jordan’s famous announcement in March 1995. Back then, a fax machine was used to announce his return to the NBA and Chicago Bulls from his short-lived baseball career.

Recently, the Atlanta rappers released their new single “Straightenin,” with the music video amassing seven million YouTube views in three days. During an interview with Apple Music, Quavo discussed the trio’s big return and future plans to shake up the music industry.
“We came to remind them,” he said. “We came to take them down a modern-day stroll. They seemed to forgot. So, it’s time to bring the boys back together and come back strong. Stronger than ever. There’s more that we need to see, it’s more championships, it’s more plaques, is more cheese, it’s more souls that we got to break, it’s more grounds we got to break. That was just the first pop-up.”
He continued, “In 10 more years, and this 10 more years of Migos, just 10 more years of new sound, 10 more years of the tripplin flow. This right here going put us over the top so we can sell out soccer fields.”
