Los Angeles Lakers LeBron James declares his stance: ‘Door’s not closed’

Los Angeles Lakers LeBron James has declared a stance on his return to Cleveland and future plans. LeBron James emphasizes the door is “not closed” on a return to the Cavaliers during his last season in the NBA. James wishes to play with his son, he revealed in an interview with The Athletic, prior to the All-Star Game.

LeBron James returned back to Cleveland for his 18th appearance in the All-Star Game. Not to mention, he’s currently in the middle of the first year of a two-year, $85 million dollar deal with the Los Angeles Lakers, per ESPN. James won’t be a free agent until the 2023-24 season, which would lead to his 21st season in the NBA. His run seems endless, however, it’s proven “Father Time” is undefeated.

“The door’s not closed on that,” James told The Athletic . “I’m not saying I’m coming back and playing, I don’t know. I don’t know what my future holds. I don’t even know when I’m free.”

    LeBron James origins

James, being from Akron, Ohio, played his first seven seasons with the Cavaliers before leaving the Miami Heat. He later returned back to Cleveland for another four years. James even hints towards being open to a possible hometown discount for an opportunity to play with his son.

His son, Bronny James, is a six-foot three-point guard who plays high school basketball at Sierra Canyon School in Chatsworth, California. He’s ranked as the 43rd prospect and will be eligible to be drafted in 2024, per ESPN. James will be 39.
