We’ve all gotten our hearts broken by a loved one for no good reason, with them making silly excuses like they weren’t emotionally ready for a relationship. Still, you find out in a few weeks that they are in another relationship. Honestly, the pain is something we’ve all had to endure deeply.
Keri Sreb uses her captivating vocals to showcase her vulnerability turning it into one of her most resounding strengths with her stunning song-writing expertise as she completely captures our hearts with this appealing anthem.

HYPEFRESH: So tell us, how did it all begin? What encouraged you to start playing and making music?
Keri Sreb: My mom started my love for music. She sang me to sleep as a child and blasted the Beatles and Carole King throughout the house. From there, I was inspired by the story writing in the songs and liked how you could put one of your experiences in song form and revisit those feelings by listening to those tracks. It’s like a time machine almost to me.
HYPEFRESH: Talk me through your creative process when you write new music.
Keri Sreb: My lyrics come to me sporadically throughout the day because I’m an overthinker. When I get an exciting thought that could be a lyric or a concept, I write it down on my notes pad. My songs serve as a cathartic process, usually trying to break down my past relationships through introspection. But also, sometimes I like to fuck around, and the lyrics aren’t always 100% how things went down. Sometimes things rhyme. It’s fun to have control over the story like that. Make it your own.
HYPEFRESH: Can you tell us about your new single, YOUR MESS?
Keri Sreb: YOUR MESS was about someone I dated who said they were emotionally unavailable, only to be dating their ex a few weeks after we broke up. They had a lot to work out, but I felt stuck in their problems.
HYPEFRESH: What do you like most about being a music artist?
Keri Sreb: I like having my life stories out there, and people can relate to them somehow. I can listen to a past song and remember what I was going through, what life was like back then, and what I was dealing with/going through. It’s an excellent way to reminisce.
HYPEFRESH: What projects do you have coming up? Can you give us any info on them?
Keri Sreb: I’m looking forward to making an alternative EP next. I liked Willow’s latest project and her ability to express anger and distrust.
HYPEFRESH: Do you have any advice for our readers who may be trying to enter the game of music?
Keri Sreb: My advice is that there is so much information online on how to get started and so many books you can get for free that will teach you everything you need to know. You can get 100% get started DIY using the internet.
HYPEFRESH: How do you solve productivity/scheduling problems and reduce overwhelming situations?
Keri Sreb: I get overwhelmed quickly, but I remind myself that with music and the creative process, it’s not a race, and I can take my time.
