Kahlil Simplis Showcases His Artistry ‘In Real Life’

Los Angeles’ very own Kahlil Simplis returns with his most recent release, In Real Life. His latest 8-track EP impresses fans and newcomers new to his music. Throughout the new project, Simplis shows more depth in his lyrics while becoming vulnerable in ways that fans haven’t witnessed from him before.

In fact, he teased what was expected on the EP with the release of his sizzling lead single “Say Yes.” Simplis is taking real-life experiences and delivering them over a variety of atmospheric and ambient beat selections that elevate his lyricism. Throughout the EP, Simplis holds the digital world hostage. In doing so, he describes how he is too busy being “himself” in real life rather than on the trappings of social media, as many would prefer.

When reflecting on the record’s purpose, Kahlil goes on to say:

“The message behind this project is essentially to just focus on the things that matter in real life…”.

In Real Life is a diary-style project that Simplis has been working on for the past two years. It shares his actual state of mind of living life in reality rather than sharing everything he’s up to on social media. Additionally, he reveals that the project is honed in on a range of relatable topics such as family, purpose, and relationships. In addition to accentuating his personal growth as an artist and a person. His latest offering follows up his last EP, Safehouse Vol.1 exactly a year later.

“I became more comfortable with saying what I really want to on this project and with being on the come-up, I’m still testing what sound people love most from me. Don’t feel I can box myself in.”

Keeping up the momentum, in between the two projects, the lyricist has been on top of his game! He’s been consistently creating and dropping music which has paid off! As a result, his trendy track “All The Way” accumulated attention worldwide and was synced into PowerBook 2: Ghost. Further garnering great feedback and more attention and press for his craft. His sincere songwriting, ear for evaluating his beat selection, and acute sense for stellar production are all evident throughout the project. Don’t believe me? Take a look for yourself!

For now, get familiar with this trailblazing talent In Real Life and press play on the new project.
