Jussie Smollett may perhaps be the most hated individual outside of Trump in 2019. The actor has been to war with the City of Chicago, and it’s costing him big time.
There’s no secret that Smollett allegedly staged a homophobic racist hate crime earlier this year. Overall after long extended hours of investigation from law enforcement in Chicago, it was determined that Jussie was the mastermind. The entire incident staged all so that he could perhaps retrieve a bigger payday. The main co-star of Fox Network “Empire”, is dealing with tremendous chaos after his actions. Overall leaving Jussie Smollett expensive production eating at his pockets.
Just yesterday, the actor filed requesting the city of Chicago to dismiss the $130,00 lawsuit against him. Despite the evidence found and cooperating witnesses, Jussie still claims his innocents regarding the entire ordeal. Thus far, he has jeopardized his future in his acting career with this stunt.
“[The lawsuit] appears to be an unprecedented effort to seek penalties and resources expended in connection with allegedly false statements made to the police where the related criminal case concerning the statements was dismissed nolle pros on all counts.”
After the staged incident, ultimately all charges would be surprisingly dropped. Leaving plenty of people questioning if the Fox Network had anything to do with the decision. Furthermore, Smollett experienced severe backlash from his actions. Overall, Lee Daniels would go on to write his character out of the episodes leading up to the season finale. In addition, at the moment it’s a strong belief that Smollett will not return for the final season of Empire. Now with the actor’s pockets being drained, he’s officially in a hard place to pay Chicago.

“Both claims fail to state sufficient factual allegations to support a reasonable inference that Defendant’s allegedly false statements caused the CPD 1,836 overtime hours and the City paying $130,106.15 in overtime pay.”
