Jennifer Hudson makes history at the Tony Awards 2022. Hudson’s work as a producer on the 2022 Best Musical A Strange Loop earned her her first Tony Award. Only a handful of creatives have achieved EGOT status. According to CNN, less than 20 people have made the list. With the addition of her Tony Award, Hudson joins the elite group.
What is an EGOT?
EGOT is an acronym for Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony. For a creative to earn awards in all four categories is not easy. EGOTs are bestowed upon artists whose work spans across mediums. From TV and movies to music and the theater, Jennifer Hudson’s work definitely fits the bill.
