Earlier this year, Drake and his doppelganger Izzy Drake got along famously. They even phoned each other at one point. When reporters asked the Certified Lover Boy himself if he had any issues with the imposter using his likeness, he blew it off.
However, the air between the two stars has changed in the last few months. Drake’s team recently issued a Cease & Desist document to Izzy Drake, demanding he stops using the rapper’s likeness.
Drake Forces His Doppelganger To Change His Name
There are very few celebrities who befriend a person impersonating them. Perhaps at one point, Drake’s doppelganger Izzy Drake proved good for business. However, things have turned a corner for the two.
Recently, the former Izzy Drake took to Instagram this past Monday to share with fans that he got served with Cease & Desist papers from the Toronto rapper himself. According to Drake’s OVO Sound label, Izzy has to reframe from using Drake’s image and change his name.
Also, the document accuses Izzy of using the “OVO” brand without permission. Currently, the impersonator now goes by Izzy Famous. A lot is going on behind the scenes that we don’t know about.
Izzy Famous Almost Had A Fight With The Rapper
Drake wasn’t a fan of his counterpart, as we believed. It makes sense, considering Izzy Drake takes home 5 grand a night from just showing up at clubs throughout South Florida. While living the lifestyle of a rapper may have been Izzy’s livelihood, he may have to find a new job quickly.
Fortunately, the Toronto rapper took mercy on him by only demanding he changes his name. Before being served cease papers, Izzy Famous almost fought with Drake. According to Izzy Drake, the Toronto rapper almost slapped him at a hotel. Talk about a major falling out.
