After years of trying, Gabrielle Union and Dwayne Wade have had their first child together. The two welcomed a baby girl to the world on Nov.11. It’s Union’s first biological child, and Wade’s fourth. Wade has three son’s from prior relationships.
Both Wade and Union announced the baby news today via social media. In a post, the actress shared this message:
Union, 46, was diagnosed with adenomyosis, a form of endometriosis that can result in infertility, and had experienced “eight or nine miscarriages,” she revealed in her memoir, “We’re Going to Need More Wine.” Both parents welcome their first child together with the help of a surrogate.
“We are sleepless and delirious but so excited to share that our miracle baby arrived last night via surrogate and 11/7 will forever be etched in our hearts as the most loveliest of all the lovely days,” she wrote in her post. Wade, 36, posted similar pictures on his social media account. The pictures show the two bonding with their little girl– all smiles.
Union and Wade tied the knot in 2014. Since then, GU has been very vocal in her struggles with infertility. In her memoir she writes, “For three years, my body has been a prisoner of trying to get pregnant — I’ve either been about to go into an IVF cycle, in the middle of an IVF cycle, or coming out of an IVF cycle.”
