Embiid pens apology on twitter for philly fans

After the devestating loss to the Hawks in Game 7 that resulted in our playoff end, fans had just about given up on the team. Fans were let down yet again. Embiid apologizes and writes a twitter post in which he address the fans directly.
In the tweet below, Embiid writes,
“PHILLY I LOVE YOU Sorry to disappoint you again Just know that I gave everything I had knowing the circumstances. If there’s one thing I’ve learned being here, it’s the TOUGHNESS this city has and that’s why I played with a torn meniscus. THANK YOU FOR THE SUPPORT ALL YEAR LONG!!”

Embiid Pens Apology Letter to Fans Acknowledging that the Team Let Philly Down

The message was short yet impactful. First, Embiid acknowleges his shortcomings and assured fans that he did not phone it in, he gave it his all (unlike his teammate). Yet, the sixers let us down again, squashing yet another opportunity to win us a championship. For that, Embiid apologises and affirms his love for this city and its fans.
Strong like the City of Philadelphia

Additionally, playing on a torn miniscus cannot be easy but he pushed through. Furthermore, Joel says he learned to be tough from the city of Philadelphia that has always been strong and full of grit. Despite shortcomings, this sports city forges on with the status of the underdog and the spirit of passionate fans.
Fan Reactions
Does that change the way you feel about that loss? Many fans felt that Embiid had nothing to apologise for as the root of the problem lies with Simmons and Doc. Either way, it’s good to have a player that understands the city and it’s driving force with sports. One that recognizes problems, admits shortcomings, takes responsiblity and turns it around. If any player did that, it has been Joel Embiid. Ultimately, Joel is Philly’s player. Understandably, he’s our MVP and other players should take a page out of his book.
