No one can have a seat at the top for too long, and DJ Khaled is learning that out the hard way.
With numbers starting to pour in, it’s quickly becoming evident that Khaled’s latest studio album, Father of Asahd, just isn’t going to reach the top of the charts. Instead, it looks as if Tyler the Creator’s Igor will be claiming the bragging rights over everyone.
Which is pretty disappointing to Khaled, who seems to be taking the news in the worst way possible. Sources tell Page Six that Khaled absolutely lost his cool when he found out the statistics. “He stormed into Epic with an entourage,” one source said. “He was angry and yelling. He threw a temper tantrum.”
Another source said, “He was furious. There was some nasty stuff said. Publicly, he’s all about ‘positivity,’ but there is a mean side to him that people don’t see . . . He overhyped the record and blew it up as his biggest album ever.”
Khaled’s album is expected to reach the No. 2 spot. However, Khaled feels that if his record label worked just a little bit harder and was a little bit smarter, he wouldn’t be the loser in the scenario.
Maybe next time…
