Troubling Times We Are In
As we make our way thought the United States “peak week” for corona cases, the numbers have come in. As of Thursday, April 16th, The U.S. currently has over 31,000 deaths due to the Corona Virus. Sadly however, this is just one of the many problems that we are currently facing right now.
In the past few weeks the unemployment rate for people on this country has skyrocketed. The amount of people on unemployment benefits has increased by 5.2 million adding to a total of 22 million Americans currently without a job.
The Paycheck Protection Program has also run out of money. This means that any business with less than 500 people that has not. signed up for this program will no longer be able to.
It has also been reported that more than half of the world’s Corona Virus cases are over in Europe. Italy at one point had one of the largest number of cases in the world a few weeks ago. Now the rest of Europe is beginning slowly catch up. The U.K. prime minister has just recovered from the corona virus as cases everywhere continue to rise. We can only hope that this pandemic comes to a close sooner rather than later.
