China Police Burn $87.5M Worth of Fake Sneakers

China Police burn over $87.5 million USD worth of fake sneakers in a most recent attempt at erasing the bootlegs that plague the streets.

Reports show from China.org that the police in the Chinese town of Bengbu were tipped off a black market operation in their township. They were told to stand down of making arrests until the plan was set. 12 months later the devastating blow was made to the underground operations, seizing all products.

Five factories were destroyed, 500,000K pairs of Vans and Converse sneakers were burned alongside 7 individual arrests responsible for daily operations with the fake sneakers.

Sneakerheads can now finally rest knowing that someone has their best interest in mind… For now at least.
