Chadwick’s Stellar Performance in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom
“Chadwick Boseman (Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom) will receive the Performance of the Year Award for his portrayal of Levee. Lee was an ambitious musician struggling to earn the recognition he deserves in the world.”
A Scholarship in Boseman’s Honor
In addition, a charitable entity is in the works to honor the late actor. A scholarship fund was created in Boseman’s name to offer assistance to students who are members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science’s Gold Program.
Moreover, the Academy’s Gold program is a diversity initiative that serves as an attempt to enhance internship experiences for students by providing exclusive access to professionals in the film industry. The program helps “participants acquire the knowledge, skills and connections to achieve success as they navigate above-the-line and below-the-line full time careers in entertainment.”
The 90-minute digital award show will be viewable on KTLA. As a matter of fact, it will air on all Nexstar Media Group television stations on Saturday, Feb. 6.
All in all, there is a way for the talented Chadwick Boseman’s legacy to live on.
