It goes without saying that Angela Bassett pretty much slayed in The Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. One of the biggest movies of the year stars the arguably greatest actresses of all time. Honestly, the marvel film should be grateful to have Bassett star in their film. Bassett definitely played the perfect Queen. Even the Golden Globes agreed so, after securing her nomination.
Angela Bassett Is Off To The Golden Globes
Recently, actress Angela Bassett received some good news this week. The Golden Globes just announced their nominees list and it turns out that Bassett secured a win. Furthermore, the actress was nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture for her role as Ramonda, the queen mother of Wakanda, in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Honestly, that woman out-did just about everyone in the film with her emotive performance. Moreover, the nomination comes as a first for Angela Bassett staring in a Marvel film. We couldn’t be happier for the actress.
This Will Be Her Second Win
While this maybe Angela Bassett’s first time being nominated for a role in a Marvel film, this isn’t the first time she’s taken home a Golden Globe. Almost 30 years ago, Bassett secured her first nomination for a Golden Globe for her portrayal of Tina Turner in the 1993 film What’s Love Got To Do With It. She even had the opportunity to take home the award. Talk about a stellar star.
