Emerging pop singer-songwriter Anchen Ji recently released her debut titled “Stars,” a brilliant single showing her capability to interweave melodic vocals into a chill and moody instrumentation, which shines more light on her unique vocals and harmonious artistic skills.

HYPEFRESH: First, let’s introduce ourselves. Just the essentials: your name, age, and where you’re from, as much or as little as you’re comfortable sharing.
Anchen Ji: My name is Anchen Ji, pronounced as Chen Jee. I’m 40 years old, and I’m from mainland China. I live in Boston, USA. I’m a scientist who develops new medicine for the patient. I’m a mom of a lovely teenager. I got into music later in my life.
HYPEFRESH: Can you tell us about your new single, “Stars”?
Anchen Ji: There is a personal story related to “Stars.” I experienced significant changes in my life in recent years. I got a new job, got divorced, and gained hope. “Stars,” tells a romantic story in which a couple is separated. She has hope and wishes they would be together in the future.
Transitioning from a hobby to a professional artist, I studied vocal and music business courses at Berklee online in recent years. I wrote my life story and collaborated with talented Berklee alumni Chengcheng (Troy) Tang and Tyler Bolton on this song. Tang produced the track, while Tang and Bolton composed it with me.
HYPEFRESH: What do you like most about being a music artist?
Anchen Ji: I’m happy to be an artist because I enjoy music. I’m not alone because many music artists like me. We work hard and create a lot of great music in the world. We are creative and constantly seek new music to resonate with our listeners.
