Akon City Gets $6 billion Contract To Start Building

Akon’s futuristic city in Senegal got a big lift off the ground.

When Akon first began talking about building a “futuristic” city in Senegal people said he was dreaming. Now the musician has 6 billion dollars that show someone believes in his dream a whole lot.

A solar-powered, crypto-currency run city in Africa, sounds familiar right. Well, Akon City is going to be a real place and will be something straight out of the comics.

Set to be complete by 2030 Akon City may be the world’s first look at what the future holds. Since it’s inception the idea behind the city was for it to be as cutting edge as possible.

With the KE international contract, the city will have Phase 1 complete by 2023.  The second phase is set to be complete by 2029.

Phase 1will see the construction of the cities roads, a hospital, a solar power plant, and residences. Additionally a Hampton hospital, mall, and hotel, plus a police station.

The second phase of construction will began in 2024 and end in 2029 with a full cryptocurrency ran city.

The announcement couldn’t have come at a better time for Akon, who has been under fire for working with a snitch. Last week Tekashi 69 shared a video of him and the Senagalian making remaking the latter’s “locked up”.

Joe Budden and the man featured on the original track, Styles P  are just two artists who condemned Akon for the Collab.

However, it is nearly impossible to come at a man who is building a city in the motherland. Tekashi 69 verse aside, Akon is the man for even coming this far with his idea for a city. Black people have heard many people suggest, even “raise” money for places of our own.

Akon city as even an idea of a solar-powered cryptocurrency-based location is great in itself, the fact it came from a black man makes it even better.

What do you guys think of Akon city being getting that contract? Even more, do you think the $6 billion dollars be enough?
