Yella Beezy, Trapboy Freddy Unite For “I’m My Brother’s Keeper”

Check out Yella Beezy & Trapboy Freddy’s New Mixtape

Dallas rappers Yella Beezy and Trapboy Freddy are kindred spirits, connected by their shared hometown, drawly bars, and raw authenticity. Combining their complementary sensibilities for a full-length project, Yella and Freddy share verses on I’m My Brother’s Keeper, a new mixtape. Spanning 13 tracks, the mixtape springs from the rich Texas trap tradition, alternating between bass-boosted strip club bangers like “Throw Them Dollas,” aggressive street anthems like “Ride,” and come-up tales like “Raccs.”

Along with the release, Yella Beezy and Trapboy Freddy prepare to drop the music video for “Raccs,” the mixtape’s opening track. Produced by Monsta Beatz, “Raccs” is a classic-style Dirty South riders anthem, as both emcees unleash breakneck bars about their ever-increasing bankrolls. Directed by Jeff Adair, the video draws a contrast between the rappers’ early lives in Oak Cliff with their glamorous present–but no matter how far they go, they’ll always have time for their old neighborhood. Look for “Raccs” to release at 3pm ET/12pm PT on WorldstarHipHop’s YouTube channel.

    What to Expect

Throughout the project, the two rappers exhibit electric chemistry, playfully trading verses atop hard-hitting instrumentals from Monsta Beatz and others. The first full-length collaboration by the duo that previously connected for Yella Beezy’s “That’s On Me” (Remix), I’m My Brother’s Keeper is available to stream everywhere via HITCO/300 Ent.

I’m My Brother’s Keeper is a moment for the city, a moment for Texas, and a moment for us to put on for the place that raised us,” says Trapboy Freddy.

Explains Yella Beezy, “You’re standing 10 toes with your brother. You ride for him. You gonna go to war for him, you will always be there for him. Anything he needs, you’re there. You’re locked in forever.”

I’m My Brother’s Keeper is the first project in a busy year for the two Oak Cliff natives. This year Yella Beezy is off to a strong start with recent releases, “Keep It In The Streets” and “Headlocc” featuring Young Thug. He’s planning to release Broke Nights Rich Days 2, the sequel to last year’s Billboard 200-charting Baccend Beezy, and Trapboy Freddy is gearing up for the release of his project Big Trap which will house his breakout single “Lil Quita”.
