On Tuesday, world-class boxer Gervonta Davis has been arrested in Parkland, Florida, on domestic charges, reported Mike Coppinger for ESPN. According to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office reports, he was charged with battery for causing bodily harm. Davis remains in custody at Broward County jail facility in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. As of now, there has been no bond set and no further details relating to his arrest.
He’s set to appear in Baltimore Circuit Count on February 16th for his alleged involvement in an unrelated hit-and-run incident in 2020. He was accused of fleeing the scene of an accident that involved four people, including a pregnant woman. Currently, he’s facing 14 charges including failure to immediately return and remain at the scene of an accident. Not to mention, the civil suit he facing as well.
Sadly, Gervonta Davis is following in Floyd Mayweather’s footsteps a bit too much. Earlier in Mayweather’s career, he struggled with keeping his hands to himself and dealing with the law. As he’s gotten older the problems have slowed down, however Davis being Mayweather’s protege this doesn’t look good.
The 28-year-old Baltimore native is scheduled to headline PBC on showtime PPV in just 10 days in Washington, D.C., against Hector Luis Garcia.
