Many people gush over the many wonderful things that happened during the 60’s. One of those things is Woodstock.
The 1969 Woodstock gathering is allegedly one for the books, but those of us born too late, can only rely on stories. Fortunately for those who were still too wet behind the ears, or not yet born, there’s a chance to experience the magic.
After an interview done between Rolling Stone and Michael Lang, it’s been confirmed that Woodstock’s 50th Anniversary will be a blow-out festival. Lang is the co-founder of Woodstock.
During the interview, he announced that Woodstock’s 50th Anniversary will be a three-day long festival. He also revealed that it’ll take place in the location where it first got it’s start– Watkins Glen, New York.
Attendees can expect an inclusive three-day long schedule of events. “It’ll be hip-hop and rock and some pop and some of the legacy bands from the original festival,” said Lang. “We’re also looking for unique collaborations, maybe some reunions and a lot of new and up-and-coming talent.”
Not to mention, activism will play a big part in the festival’s draw!
Woodstock is expected to place from August 16 to 18.
