Sometimes people feel as though they have to steal to get what they want…even if it’s at the expense of innocent people.

A 29-year-old woman by the name of Alicia Newby is guilty of stealing Taraji P Henson’s identity. According to The Hollywood Unlocked, Newby went on a wild shopping spree, after stealing Taraji’s identity plus several other people’s identity. It’s not mentioned how she got the other victim’s information. Though, prosecutors claim Newby got her hands on Taraji’s identity by hacking her email account.

But you have to give it up to the 29-year-old thief. Even though she got caught at the end, she’s proved herself to be one hell of a mastermind when it comes to the chain of the crime she committed. Apparently, she racked up more than $12,000 worth of stolen goods and more than $4,000 from Taraji.

Before the authorities arrested Newby at her apartment in Chicago’s Galewood area, she would order merchandise and have it sent to fake addresses. She was almost caught back in September when a mail carrier became suspicious of fake addresses being used, but she managed to get away undetected.

In the process, she even scammed JP Morgan Chase, PayPal, and American Express. Not to mention, she used one victim’s identity to secure a lease for another place of stay.

The Chicago mom was released on a $10,000 signature bail, after appearing in court on Sunday.

Good thing she didn’t go to jail, because it wouldn’t have been a pleasant experience for her. She suffers from bipolar disorder and is currently pregnant with her seventh child.

As for the actress, she hasn’t responded to the news.
