Whoopi Goldberg is a walking example of what it looks like to beat a bad case of the sniffles.

On Friday, Goldberg made an appearance, via video chat, to let her fans know that she’s doing well, and continuing to kick the aftermath of pneumonia up and down the street. In the video, Goldberg says that it was almost curtains for her, after being diagnosed with the infection in both her lungs.

“Yes, I came very, very close to leaving the Earth. Good news, I didn’t.”

Goldberg also adds that she was battling septic shook. However, she says that she’s feeling much better, and can’t wait to return to the daytime talk show. Once she does, she promises to share more details about her experience.

“I am up and moving around. Not as fast as I’d like to be, but I am OK,”

The star has been a contributing panelist on The View since the year 2007, but since the infection, she’s been absent. Her last episode was taped on February 5.
