RAYLO, the urban collective disrupting the industry, announced their latest body of work ‘So Gone’, became available via all streaming platforms on 9 August 2018.
The EP is supported by a music video for a lead single of the same name ‘So Gone’ which premiered with EARMILK. Inspired by the darker side of the music industry, the London based 4-piece self-produced the 5 track EP, showcasing a sound which mixes moody basslines, melodic R&B vocals and UK-rap.
The EP is a sonic experience, kicking off with the cinematic, somber title track ‘So Gone’ which expresses the group’s angst and ambition in equal measure, the band says: “the EP Illustrates the beauty of the struggle, the power in numbers and the definition of sacrifice. Everyone was the underdog at one point so embrace your journey because ultimately you’ll find your self ‘So Gone’ from where you once were.”
So Gone demonstrates RAYLO’s versatility throughout; lead single So Gone represents the band’s groundwork as musicians and is a reflective piece on their journey so far. The EP also includes the downtempo ‘Remember Me’; a lyrical exploration of coping mechanisms in the music industry with drinking anthem ‘Remedy’; a showcase of their upbeat Summery production on Polaroid; and conclude with the
seductively slow and melodic ‘Lingerie’.
RAYLO is formed of singer/rappers Reece Whyte and Teni Solomon, and producers George Renwick and Robin Reeve, who met on a project at The Boom Room Studios in London. The band had their first taste of success with debut single ‘Winner’ in 2016, which featured on a popular TV advert for Pot Noodle. They’ve headlined The Big Freshers Icebreaker tour, and performed at Tramp and Proud in London, also receiving a co-sign from artist development brand and long-standing event ILUVLIVE.
