Waka Flocka Experiences Some Heat Like Keri Hilson
Waka Flocka added fuel to a fire that Keri Hilson burned. Flocka piggybacked off of Keri’s comments about interfering with Americans’ freedom of speech.
First, Hilson starts the tirade: “This may be funny,” she said. “But it’s a bit risky too. Without considering Trump, a democracy needs freedom of speech. Think about other leaders or popular figures unable to express their opinions if they differ from the majority of world leaders. Gradually, it leads to censorship.”
According to Hilson, “If the leaders of the ‘free world’ can be removed, imagine that same right of civilians. Imagine believing every time you read ‘false information detected’ and propaganda, deceptive reports and flat out lies being the only thing we see.”
Black Twitter Erupted after Flocka’s Tweet
The rapper simply wrote, “Someone’s smart” — and that was all it took.
A few fans responded. One person commented, “I have an issue with people like Keri Hilson & Waka Flocka trying to make a big deal about the freedom of speech being threatened due to Trump’s Twitter account removal, but they don’t seem to think it through.”
Twitter Policy Refresher
Twitter’s Hateful Policy prohibits promoting violence, attacking, or threatening others based on various categories like race, ethnicity, gender, and more. Accounts inciting harm towards others on these grounds are not allowed.
In fact, the publication of Trump’s hateful rhetoric caused social media platforms including Twitter to temporarily suspend the 45th president’s accounts. Twitter led the charge of social media’s banning spree. Since Twitter’s ban, Trump can no longer post on other social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and Reddit.
Americans must wait to see what other punishments Trump will face. On the other hand, they will be the judges of the list of celebrities and regular Americans to cancel next.
