Most people tune into a VERZUZ battle to hear two famous emcees spit bars and singers sing all their greatest tracks. However, some fans just have nothing to offer to the conversation, other than their own personal interests. After the VERZUZ battle between the iconic The Lox and Dipset, Tyler the Creator had some commentary to share. Although, his offerings had nothing to do with the battle itself. Instead, he took the time to share that he had a massive crush on Jadakiss.

On Tuesday, Tyler took to the comments section during the VERZUZ battle to compliment the rapper on his confidence and “voice control.” He didn’t just stop there, though. Tyler took things further when he complimented Jadakiss on his great skin. “ . . . he aged well wheesh,” he said. Later, Tyler also took to Twitter to cast his vote on who he believe won the battle. Unsurprisingly, the Odd Future rapper picked neither The Lox and Dipset. Instead, he steered the conversation back to his crush Jadakiss. “Jadakiss mvp wow,” he tweeted.

It’s uncertain what prompted Tyler The Creator to share his feelings on his former mentor. Though, it’s pretty obvious that he thinks very highly of Jadakiss. Unfortunately, the rap mogul himself has failed to comment on Tyler’s confession.

Despite the fact that Jadakiss hasn’t reached out to his protégé, he still remains forever the biggest inspiration behind Tyler’s “Yonkers” track. In a 2016 interview with Vince Staples, Tyler and the host reflected the rap mogul’s influence over the track. “I remember when you made that fing beat, and it was Jadakiss. You put on a fing beanie and started rapping like Jadakiss for like two hours,” Staples had complimented Tyler at the time. Though, the Odd Future rapper revealed that the song was originally a “joke.” Furthermore, Tyler explained that he wanted to create the worst New York beat just for fun. Surprisingly enough, people really started to like the beat. Now “Yonkers” has gone platinum 10 years after its release. The joke became Tyler’s greatest hits.
