Drake’s two-concert show series at the Apollo Theatre has been a long time coming for many die-hard fans. After two postponements, production issues, and Takeoff’s unfortunate death, fans were more than ready to see the Toronto star make his grand return to the stage. Not to mention, people definitely made sure they received the link on how to win tickets to one of his biggest shows of the new year. Those who’ve been watching the rapper’s every move, know that he hasn’t done a live performance since 2019. Though, this weekend ushered in a new era for Drake.
Furthermore, Drake’s concert showed every aspect of his life, leading up to the moment he hit fame. Everything from the changing stage sets, the ode to his Degrassi days and the iconic guest-stars made Drake’s concert series one of a kind. Here are the top 5 best moments from the show.
The Changing Stage Sets
Drake’s Apollo concert this past Saturday definitely lived up to the hype. While the rap star went through a mix of his best hits and slow burners, the stage sets matched with the vibe of every song. Moments before his scheduled set time, a white screen lifted to show the Toronto star sitting in a room made to resemble his childhood bedroom.
Furthermore, Drake reveals that he created many of his first songs in that bedroom. Many of these essentially included “Marvin’s Room,” “Say Something” and “Practice,” which he performed. Essentially moving through the different times in his life, the stage set changed again a few more times. The sets included a record label office and a Harlem Bodega. Clearly, a lot of creative work went into making the production sets.
The Guest-Star Appearances
Speaking of changing stage sets, Drake also brought out iconic guest stars during his performance. On the first night of his two-concert series, Drake brought out the legendary hip hop group Dipset. Making the moment all the more iconic, Drake donned himself in Cam’ron’s original pink mink coat and headband.
Together, they performed Dipset’s biggest hits such as “I Really Mean It” and “Dipset Anthem.” Additionally, the legendary group gifted Drake a diamond bracelet with jewels resembling the Dipset bird, praying hands and the OVO logo. The moment proved a huge honor for Drake.
Though, the guest star appearances didn’t stop there. On Sunday night, Drizzy took the stage with his self-proclaimed “real-life, brother”Lil Uzi Vert. Furthermore, the two joined forces to perform Vert’s hit tracks like “Just Wanna Rock” and “XO Tour Llif3.” Drake truly went all out for his concert series this past weekend.

On Saturday, Drake also took to the stage with his “other brother from another mother” 21 Savage. Clearly, the stars have been enjoying the success of their collaborative record Her Loss. Of course, they had to keep the energy going by taking to the Apollo Theater stage together.
Though, what made the moment all the more special was 21 Savage’s heartfelt words to Drake. The UK rapper thanked Drizzy for always checking in on him and being a loyal friend since they first met in 2015. Apparently, their relationship goes deeper than just the music.
Drake & 21 Savage Hit The Road Together
The star rappers were really on a roll after Drake hinted at an upcoming tour. “You should come see us this summer, we might be around,” Drake said before 21 left the stage. Fans definitely would line up to see Drizzy and 21 Savage go out on tour together.
Star-Studded Guest List
While Drake’s two part show basically “stole the show,” so did the star-studded guest list. Everyone attended Drizzy’s show, including the likes of Kevin Durant, Justin and Hailey Bieber, A$AP Ferg and A Boogie wit da Hoodie. Drake certainly had to be grateful that night.
