Time to Rewatch Some Throwbacks
Whether you hate it or love it you have to admit reality TV is pretty entertaining. I don’t watch any at the moment, but there were definitely some funny reality TV shows back when I was younger. The mid-2000s contain some of the best reality TV out there.
A lot of them are pretty corny, so to help sort through all the craziness I completed a list of the top 3 reality shows from the mid-2000s. So strap in and get ready for some nostalgia and more ideas for shows to binge watch during the quarantine.
Top 3 Reality Shows from the Mid 2000sWild ‘n Out
Wild ‘n Out is Nick Cannon’s hilarious improv comedy show. The show includes two teams that compete in hip-hop related games. Along with the normal cast of laugh out loud talent, there are celebrity guests each episode. Some of the big names that have appeared on the show include Snoop Dogg, Kevin Hart, Chance the Rapper, and many more. Check out the video below to see the highlights of Kevin Hart.
The show is currently still running but actually began all the way back in 2005. The earlier seasons contain some of the funniest content. Plus it’s always nice to throw it back and check out some TV you haven’t seen in a while. I suggest watching any of the first few seasons that came out during the mid-2000s.
It’s wild to think but Survivor first aired all the way back in 2000. I can’t say I was watching it at the time, due to the fact that I was like five, but a few years later I learned how entertaining this show was. Since first airing, they have continuously pumped out this show.
When it comes to this show though, I suggest watching the earlier seasons. I haven’t watched any of the recent seasons but I doubt that you can keep a show entertaining for that long. The sixth and seventh season of the series are a great watch though. They take place in the jungle of Amazon and Fiji. It’s pretty funny and interesting to see all the contestants competing to win the challenges.
- Flavor of Love
I highly suggest you watch this show or at least some highlights. Flavor of Love is top-notch when it comes to reality TV. This show is basically like The Bachelor, but actually good. It takes Flavor Flav, a rapper from the famous group Public Enemy, and puts him in a house full of 20 wild women. There is a lot of trashy content out there in reality TV, not all of it is necessarily worth watching. This show is trashy but is still absolutely hilarious.
Flav provides funny lines throughout the show. The supporting cast just adds to the craziness. I suggest watching the first season out of the three. This season includes several funny women attempting to win over Flav. A standout in the season is a girl known as New York who pretty much acts nuts the entire time. Check out this video of her and another contestant getting in a fight.
Now is probably a better time than ever to find some shows to binge-watch. Reality TV might not be the most meaningful content but it can still be pretty funny. Take a trip back to the mid-2000s when people were even more out of pocket, and watch some class reality TV.
