Top 11 Rolling Loud Miami 2022 Moments

I am hoping we are finally near the end of the pandemic. Because truthfully music festivals are my favorite pastime. Sure concerts are cool, but nothing beats seeing all your favorite artists all in one place! The festival that is on the top of my bucket list is Rolling Loud, and they recently just threw one of their wildest shows yet.

It wouldn’t be a Rolling Loud weekend without some wild shit happening. Rolling Loud Miami 2022 was filled with madness and mayhem. In no particular order, here’s our 11 favorite moments from the past weekend.

    1. No Love for Kid Cudi

Someone on the Rolling Loud staff should have done a temp check before making Kid Cudi the headliner on Saturday. To add context, they upgraded Cudi to be the Saturday headliner after Kanye West pulled out of the show four days earlier. When it was time for Cudi to perform, fans responded by hurling trash at the Cleveland artist. Fed up with the disrespect, Cudi stormed off the stage, ending his set early.

    2. Can’t Tell Him Nothing

The king of pettiness strikes again! Many fans were disappointed when they heard the news that Kanye wouldn’t be performing at Rolling Loud, after he pulled out of the festival. No one could’ve predicted that Ye would appear anyway and do a surprise set with Lil Durk. This disappointed a lot of fans, myself included. How could he essentially set his former friend up for failure? To add more fuel to the fire, he performed “Father Stretch My Hands”, a song that features Cudi! How petty could you be?

    3. Long Way Home

I know inflation is in full effect right now, but apps like Uber and Lyft have lost their damn minds. A viral video showed concert goers walking back to their hotels because of inflated surge prices. People said 15-minute rides cost up to $200, which is ridiculous. The next best alternative option was walking back. I can’t even imagine walking home after partying all day. Those people are better than me.

    4. Another Antonio Brown Sighting

It’s safe to say former NFL player Antonio Brown aka AB is enjoying retirement. He’s already rebranded himself as a music artist and recently took his talents to Miami last week for Rolling Loud. While he might have not had the best performance, he made history. AB is the first athlete-turned-rapper to perform at Rolling Loud, which is an achievement on its own.

    5. Female Rap Dominance

The queen of rap, Nicki Minaj, should be proud of her contributions to music. She inadvertently kicked down the doors so that other female rap artists could succeed. I’m sure they made her proud because all the female rappers had phenomenal performances at Rolling Loud last weekend. I’m talking about Monaleo, Kali, Baby Tate, and especially Flo Milli. The future is insanely bright for these ladies.

    6. Crunk Ain’t Dead

Everybody and their momma were raving about how great rapper Duke Deuce’s Rolling Loud performance was. He brought that Memphis energy that he’s known for and shut it down! The dude was electrifying out there. He had the whole crowd lit. I’m glad to see Memphis artists finally getting their flowers.

    7. Pushin’ P

The one and only Future Hendrix also performed at Rolling Loud Miami 2022 last weekend. Future killed his set and even made sure to pay homage to YSL. Just when they thought his performance couldn’t get any better, he surprised everyone by bringing out Travis Scott. No one saw this coming, as Rolling Loud replaced Scott at the last moment in fear of another incident. Thankfully everything went smooth.

    8. Who Invited Her?

When the hell did Brittany Renner become a hip-hop journalist? For some reason, they gave the controversial Internet personality a press pass and got the opportunity to interview some of the Rolling Loud Miami 2022 performers. It’s safe to say, it didn’t exactly go as planned and she’s got some growing to do in the professionalism department. From arguing with fans or excessively flirting with Kodak Black, she is nothing like your average journalist.

    9. King Kendrick

I’m glad Kendrick Lamar has made his return to music and performing. His recent Rolling Loud Miami 2022 performance was one for the books! K-Dot even brought out Florida rapper Kodak Black to perform their hit single “Silent Hill”.

    10. Technical Difficulties

Rapper Playboi Carti received the short end of the stick on Rolling Loud Miami 2022 weekend. Five songs into his performance, a fire broke out on the stage. This moment cut his set short, disappointing concert attendees.

    11. Growing Up Too Fast

Everyone knows performing is everything as an artist. Artists who have great showmanship and an impressive stage presence will have a fruitful career. A viral video that surfaced around showed some of the younger artists performing, and let’s just say they got some work to do. You can tell who prepared to perform and who didn’t. I’m going to give them the benefit of the doubt and hope they practice their crafts.
