    The best villians are the villians who are the heroes in their own story. Characters who aren’t truly evil but may have an altered thinking about how things should be. The character’s intentions usually get in the way putting them along that road of becoming the villian. Disney + Series, “Loki” delivers this.

    Tom Hiddleston’s Loki becomes one of the heroes working along the TVA. Although, don’t expect hero antics as he is very much the untrustworthy trickster. “Loki” began streaming on June 9th and will continue episodic releases every Wednesday. The first two episodes well recieved. The series picks up after the events of Avengers Endgame, when Loki escapes.

    Tom Hiddleston’s Loki, A Hero of his own story

    In this story, Loki finds himself confronted by the TVA (Time Variance Authority) instead of enjoying a peaceful escape. The TVA, like cosmic law enforcement, keeps a watchful eye on everything in existence. Recognizing that Loki is out of place in time and location, the TVA sees potential in utilizing him to counter other variants that pose a threat to the timeline.

    1. Loki is very much still alive.

    In case fans were confused about Loki’s death in Infinity War, let’s clear that up. Due to the events of 2019’s “Avengers: Endgame, Loki was able to escape his fate when he got his hands on an Infinity Stone. When the avengers go back in time, to get their hands on everything to create their own Infinity gauntlet, they inadvertedly create an opportunity for Loki. Loki is able to escape capture and ultimately his death in Avenger’s Infinity War.

    2. Iron Man Homage Parallels

    After the events of Avenger's Endgame, it's only right to pay homage to Marvel's beloved character of Iron Man. In Loki TV series, the first shot is reminicient of Tony Stark waking up in the desert.

    Initially, the very first scene of Tom Hiddleston’s Loki is a parallel shot that is an easter egg for Tony stark waking up in the desert. Given the result, of his character in Avenger’s Endgame, it’s fair to say that Marvel would want to pay homage to their beloved Iron Man character. 

    3. Mephisto does not appear as the big bad.

      • Despite Rumors, Mephisto will not be appearing on Loki. Fans were adamant that this would be the case. During the first couple minutes of the opening of “Loki,” a stained glass depiction of a devil diety was shown. Fans assumed that was a reference to Mephisto.

    Kate Herron clears up the rumor mill surrounded by the possiblity of Mephisto appearance when she sat down with Entertainment Tonight to discuss the series. 

    “It’s actually a really strange coincidence. The horns and the concept of being cast out of heaven are a direct reference to Loki. It’s not related to WandaVision. When we filmed that, I think WandaVision was still being edited. I did come across the online discussions about it, and I found it intriguing.”

    4. Kang the Conqueror is the big bad.

Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror, a timetraveling master physicist who is threatening the purity of the timeline by creating alternate versions of himself through time.     However, it has been leaked that the villian will be Kang the Conqueror. Kang is a master physicist known for his time-traveling abilities. Thus, through traveling along alternate timelines, he creates alternate versions of himself through time. Johnathan Majors was casted as the villian.

    4. Time Variance Authority (TVA)

    TVA is an authority in ensuring the timeline stays intact. They police and monitor any time anomolies and set the timeline right. They first appeared in Thor vol. 1 #372. Consequently, the TVA was created by the Time-Keepers. Thus, they exist outside of time and space. Basically, they oversee all timelines within the Multiverse. In the series, TVA was tasked with taking down Loki after he changed the timeline during his escape.

    5. Skrulls make an appearance (5:23 mark).

        For those who do not remember, skrulls appeared in Captain Marvel. Skrulls were an alien race shape shifters. Additionally, Skrulls made an appearance in Tom Holand’s Spiderman film.

    6. Loki is Gender fluid.

    Since 2014, the Loki character has been confirmed as gender fluid, at least in the comics. However, the MCU had not been made official. Until Now, fans noted an appearance of “fluid” in Loki’s file. Appearing around the 15:06 Mark, The file containing this information on Loki was given to Owen Wilson’s Agent Mobius.

    In an interview with Insider, KateHerron said:

    “In Norse mythology and the comics, Loki is portrayed as gender fluid, and it was important for us to stay true to that representation.”

    7. Infinity Stones make an appearance.

    The Infinity Stones in the desk drawer draws Loki’s attention. The stones may seem like a big temptation. But, atlas, these stones are useless in the TVA. The stones turn out to be inert stones from alternate timelines that don’t work. Why? Because, they’re no longer connected to their home realm. So, Loki cannot pull any of the disappearing tricks with those like he did in Avenger’s Endgame. The TVA uses them as paperweights.

    9. Loki contemplates whether or not he is a robot.

    10. Loki Charms

    Tom Hiddleston’s Loki replaces the  Lucky Charms mascot, Lucky the Leprechaun. It will be a limited edition run of the cereal. Additionally, the famous catchphrase “They’re magically delicious” has been changed to “They’re mischievously delicious.” View the commercial below.
