True music fans got happy over the sight of Timbaland and Missy Elliott returning to drop music. The duo has made a great portfolio of timeless music for well over a decade and also helped in the process of developing artists.
One of there highlights was working with the late great Aaliyah during the peak of her music career. Despite so many great accomplishments on the music scene, it looks like the duo are both being sued. A songwriter by the name of Terry Williams allegedly claims to have helped Missy Elliott create the song “Heartbroken”.
The song ended up with Aaliyah because of Missy Elliott selling the song without his consent. According to TMZ, William is moving forward and will be suing Timbaland and Missy Elliott for proper compensation. Terry claims that he was never compensated by neither producer. The songwriter also states that he and Missy Elliott had an agreement to share the profits of the song.
Aaliyah’s release of the song “Heartbroken”, is similar in sound and lyrics to the track he originally helped to create with Elliott. Terry will move forward in the suit with Timbaland, Missy, and Aaliyah’s estate in the claim. Mr. Williams wants his cut in the royalties.
