A wise man once said, “legends live forever”. When I first heard that quote, I didn’t quite understand it. How could someone make a difference when they aren’t even present? However, as I continued to live life, over time, I was able to understand what that sentiment means. Knowing what I know now, I appreciate a young artist like TheRealJimmyy paying his respects to legends on his new project.
Heart in the Right Place
Just the other day ago, he released his new project titled “Legends Live Forever”. With a title like that, you can obviously expect a bunch of music that was made with a pure heart. And that is pretty much how this project was prepared. Jimmyy dedicated this project to everyone who played a part and affected his life.
Even though these people played a huge part and some saved him, I can see why he didn’t refer to them as heroes. Heroes are very influential too. But legends, on the other hand, make such a huge impact that their extraordinary work lives forever. With a runtime of 56 minutes and 21 tracks, we get to catch Jimmyy in his element and let listeners behind the curtain and see his pain.
He starts things off triumphantly with “Old Feelings”. Once you hear those piano keys, you know for a fact he’s about to pour his raw emotions into this track, and that’s exactly what he did. Besides a violin, a piano has to be the most affectionate instrument to use if you wanted to invoke emotions out of someone. Perfect utilization by Jimmyy, because this song is quite the tearjerker due to his heart-touching lyrics about his life. Another song that’s worth checking out is the single, “Let’s Ride”. He teams up with 4PF signee and fellow Atlanta artist Noodah05. I couldn’t ask for a better song from two of Atlanta’s younger upcoming stars. Both artists are able to just effortlessly ride the beat as if they completed the song in one take. That’s how on-point they sound, flawless chemistry from the pair.
Laying the Groundwork
Besides that, there’s not too much left to say about “Legends Live Forever”. It might not be the best project, you hear in 2022. But has promise and lays the groundwork for the start of something potentially great. If his next release provides that same intense hunger and it’s over for opposing rappers.
