The Weeknd is back with another visual for his upcoming album “After Hours”

Abel Tesfaye, otherwise known as Grammy award winning artist and Diamond certified selling artist, The Weeknd is giving Michael Jackson “Thriller” and Heath Ledger’s Joker energy in his new music videos. The Weeknd is rolling out for his new album “After Hours” which is set to drop on March 20, 2020. This is the third visual released, following the videos of “Heartless” and “Blinding Lights”. The “After Hours” short film is the longest video at 5 plus minutes long.

Video Breakdown

The After Hours short films takes place directly after The Weeknd’s live performance on ‘Late Night with Jimmy Kimmel’. After Abel leaves the stage he has a huge smile on his face that appears to be fake and insincere. The smile goes away as he walks down the backstage hallway to exit the studio. His face now looks worried and confused. He then checks the bandage on his nose that he received in a scuffle with two security guards in the ‘Blinding Lights’ video. Abel starts to wander the streets and looks as if he does not know where he is. He then appears in a subway station where he becomes anxious, as if something dangerous was about to occur. Abel continues to walk on the subway platform, and then suddenly he is being dragged across the platform floor! This scene is a visual representation of him still experiencing the “high” from licking the skin of a psychoactive toad in the ‘Heartless’ video. The final scene in the “After Hours” short film shows a couple entering an elevator with Abel standing in it. As soon as the doors closes, loud screams of terror rang out, right before Abel murders them.

The three music videos he released all go in sync with each other showing his insane party lifestyle in Las Vegas. He wears the same red suit jacket and black pants throughout all the videos. He even wears the same suit on his astounding live performances on the ‘Late Night with Jimmy Kimmel’ show and the ‘Late Show with Stephen Colbert’These videos are building great anticipation for ‘After Hours’ and I cannot wait to hear the rest of it!
