The Seriousness of WWIII And The Memes That Followed

World War III Is A Joke Apparently

If you decided to take a break from social media within the past 24 hours you’re in for quite the shock today. U.S. armed forces commenced an airstrike in Baghdad, killing Quasem Soleimani, one of Iran’s growing military leaders. A speculated reason for the attack was his growing influence in military power. In response to this, Iran promised revenge for this attack and U.S. allies are beginning to gear up for retaliation. To top it all off, the impeachment process is still going, which makes this a very bad time for WWIII to begin. Despite all of this intensity, this did not stop the internet from doing what it does best. That is making jokes out of a potentially dire situation.

    What’s Beneath The Surface

The Twitter community took full advantage of this situation and wasted no time making memes that have both comedy and tragedy to them. Here a few examples of what has already taken place on twitter.

Despite all of the comedy that the internet has been making, this is a serious problem that is going on. It doesn’t help that lot of people are not taking this seriously. This has the potential to become a worldwide crisis and people are just making jokes on the internet. Using humor to deal with your problems is one thing, but even that has its limits. Thousands of U.S. troops are currently being deployed overseas and there are people who still think this is a joke.

What do you guys think about the way the internet is handling the thought of WWIII? Let us know how you feel in the comments section below. Feel free to tell us what future content you would like to see us cover. And as always, have a good day.
