Disney’s Sitcom Got “Louder and Prouder”
Fans of the Proud Family just got “Louder and Prouder” as the hit Disney show is coming back. Now on Disney+, The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder is set to premiere Wednesday, Feb. 23. While many are eager for the day to come, recently, the show released a debut date.
“PENNY!” said Oscar Proud, who plays Timothy Davidson set the start of the scene, and people were quick to spot the iconic Proud Family. Penny Proud, played by Kyla Pratt, comes down the stairs in her mom’s shoes. While strutting down the runway, she sings the iconic Tik Tok song, “Do It” by Chloe x Halle. While many know the feeling one gets when hearing the music, Penny defines living the moment.
Oscar isn’t entirely happy with Penny wearing those kinds of shoes in the clip. He’s not fond of his baby girl turning into a young woman right before his eyes.
Humor, Family, & Life Lessons
As it’s been almost 17 years since the Proud Family, the new hit series brings new forms of family humor to one’s home. Days of watching the sitcom in the 2000s, The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder, is like nothing else, and fans are in for a ride.
“The 2020s brings new career highs for mom Trudy (Paula Jai Parker),” said the synopsis. “New challenges for Penny, including a socially woke neighbor who thinks she has a lot to teach her. Bullying social media influencers who want to cancel her and her teenage hormones.”
The cast is a mix of original and new voices; however, Paula Jai Parker, JoMarie Payton, Cedric the Entertainer, Soleil Moon Frye, and others make appearances alongside the original cast. At the same time, some new voices include Keke Palmer as Maya, Billy Porter, and Zachary Quinto as Randall and Barry Leibowitz-Jenkins.
“It’s the perfect time to bring back this show, and we can’t wait to take fans, old and new alike, on this journey with us,” said creator and executive producer Bruce W. Washington and executive producer Ralph Farquhar in a joint statement.
