Any true fan of the Star Wars saga knows it’s more than just a couple of films and comic books. The franchise has basically become a pop culture phenomenal. People can’t stop saying “Let the Force be with you.” That’s how big of a franchise Star Wars has become. However, Disney has taken the franchise to an entirely new level.

Star Wars has received a major “face lift” with the release of several comic books, series and films. Additionally, Disney Plus plans to release another round of Star Wars shows.

Furthermore, Disney Plus has announced the release for the upcoming Obi Wan Kenobi series. The actual series will take place 10 years after the events that unfolded in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. In the film, Obi Wan Kenobi loses his apprentice, Anakin Skywalker to the Dark Side, who then becomes Darth Vader. More juicy details reveal that filming will begin this April. Moreover, an official release date will be announced in 2022. Star Wars fans won’t want to miss the new Disney Plus series.

Of course, the Obi Wan Kenobi series wouldn’t be the same without the iconic actor Ewan McGregor. The A-lister has reprised his role as the honorable Jedi and fans wouldn’t have it any other way. Additionally, Hayden Christensen will reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker-turned-Darth Vader in the new series. Looks like the Jedi will have to face off with his student yet again.

While the Obi Wan Kenobi series has two of the best actors reprising their respective roles, other talents will join the show as well. According to StarWars.com, the cast line-up will include Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, and Benny Safdie. The Star Wars franchise grows bigger and badder everyday.
