Terror attack at New Zealand mosques: Leaves 49 people DEAD!

Many people were left dead and many others were left severely injured this Friday afternoon.

Two mosques were attacked today in Christchurch, New Zealand in a very planned and unpredicted way that put the whole nation in shock.

A man in his 20s has been charged with murder after the mass shootings. Australian Prime Minister, Scott Morrison, said it was the work of an “extremist right-wing, violent terrorist.” Two others have also been arrested on possession of firearms. Police are still trying to understand their involvement.

Authorities say they “will not be discussing the offenders’ possible motivations or the causes of this incident” at this stage. In a social media post, just before the attack, an account that is believed to belong to one of the attackers posted a link to a suspicious page. The link went to a 87-page statement that was filled with anti-immigrant, anti-Muslim, ideas and explanations for an attack.

The attack was broadcasted live on social media as well. However, authorities have not spoken on it, but have just advised people not to share it. They lastly ended it off by saying, “We are working to have any footage removed,” the New Zealand police said.
