In a virtual appearance Nasty C and T.I performed “They Don’t” on Late Nite with Seth Meyers.
South African Rapper Nasty C and hip-hop legend teamed up for “They Don’t” on Seth Meyers’s late nite. The song is an outcry for social justice across the world especially for people of color.
Artist’s all over the world are using their talents to help spread the word about social injustices in this world. After George Floyd’s death sparked protests and riots across the globe, people have been coming together in many ways.
The song “THey don’t” makes direct reference to Floyd’s death at the hands of police officers in Minneapolis.
“How you supposed to serve and protect/With your knee on my neck?” spit the Dej Jam Africa signee Nasty C.
“They Don’t” was released earlier this month as multiple artist began to release songs in alignment with BLM. Even Tekashi 69 gave credit to artists who made songs that were socially conscious. After being told that his “Trolls” or “Gobba” song was number one amid some confusion, Tekashi said Lil Baby’s “THe bigger picture” deserved the top spot.
Nasty C and T.I song represents the global effect that Black Lives Matter is having. Black and brown people everywhere are taking up the call to stand up for the rights of people who look like them. For Nasty, such a move could prove critical for success so early in his career.
With a T.I feature already in hand, and music that speaks to the people. The sky is the limit for the South African rapper.
