SZA Reveals The Official Release Date For Her Forthcoming Project ‘CTRL’

SZA Reveals The Official Release

On Wednesday night, TDE founder Top Dawg tweeted out a very short video that featured SZA leaning against a pile of discarded electronics while RZA narrated. And midway through, a date appeared on the screen alluding to an official release of 6.9.17.

“It’s my honor to drop this lesson,” RZA said. “It’s my honor to give this blessing.”

Let’s be honest, while this may not be news for most, for her loyal fan base, the road to Ctrl has been rocky. Last October, Top Dawg tweeted out out that the album, long thought to be completed, was actually not finished. Around that same time, SZA briefly threatened to quit music completely to focus her efforts on film. By the end of the year, it was clear that Ctrl would drop sometime in 2017, though the official date was not apparent.

But no worries! The Self-Saviour Zig-Zag-Zag Allah (as RZA calls her in the video) is finally ready to share her album with the world!

Here’s how Twitter responded:

Stay tuned for the official release and let’s pray there are no delays.
