    Steve Wonder leaves label Motown after nearly 60 years 

    Musical legend Stevie Wonder leaves label, Motown Records. Stevie was signed at the tender age of 11.

    Now Wonder is starting a new venture. He will be able to release music with his new label entitled So What the Fuss Music. Wonder’s label will operate under the Republic Records/Universal Music Group.

    Nothing to wonder about 

    Wonder does not mention anything negative about his decision to leave Motown. In fact, he shares that he will forever be connected to Motown and has plans to work with the label in the future.

    Stevie Wonder uses his voice 

    Like many celebrities, Stevie Wonder makes it known that getting involved in politics is essential. He highlights that people cannot sit around and remain silent with all the injustices taking place. Wonder recently posted to his YouTube channel, ‘The Universe Is Watching Us — Stevie Wonder In His Feelings’ following  the verdict of the Breonna Taylor murder.

    The video prior to that one covered the protests that occurred as a result of George Floyd’s senseless killing.

    His latest songs, “Can’t Put It In The Hands of Fate” and “Where Is Our Love Song,” talks about the racial tensions that are not new, but are more visible than ever. These songs serve as a guiding light in today’s trying times.

    Stevie Wonder: here and now

    During the summer of 2019, Wonder announced that he had to step away from music for a while. After issues with his kidney, Wonder had to undergo surgery.

    Even as Stevie Wonder decides to leave the Motown label, while at his recent press conference, Wonder stated that he was “feeling great.”

    Although he had not released music in decades, Wonder has made various performances and public appearances over the span of his musical career.
