Serena Williams speaks for a lot of mothers when it comes to the discussion of preparing one’s self for giving birth to a baby.
Serena Williams is the mother of a healthy two-year-old but admits that when it was time for Alexis to be born, she was freaking out.
“I was like, ‘You know what, I’m just not gonna do it.’ I was late, I was at my dad’s house and I was killing time. I think I was one of the few people who wanted to keep the baby inside.”
However, that fear was with the help of a company she did an investment in. Serena say’s companies like Mommy and Me, which aim to help expecting mothers, are really good places to start.
“I was so terrified, but one of the things that this particular company is doing is helping women, so that’s just a touch of what’s in our portfolio … it’s been fun to work on.”
Now Serena is much more confident in her role as a mom. And her experience with Mommy and Me has to lead her trust in other companies founded by women. At the age of 37, the tennis star has invested in several other companies, says Page Six.
