Russell Wilson Signs Biggest Contract in NFL History

Time Magazine

Russell Wilson is doing the victory dance…from the comforts of his bed.

The Seattle Seahawks quarterback let Seahawks fans know that a contract extension has been struck. Russell shared the news as he and his wife, Ciara, laid together in bed.

“Hey Seattle, we got a deal. Go hawks. But I’ma see y’all in the morning. Time for y’all to go to bed,” said the tired quarterback.

Details of this new agreement between the athlete and the football team suggest that Wilson will go down in history as the highest paid athlete in NFL history. The is a four-year deal, $140 million extension that includes a $65 million signing bonus, according to ESPN. With that being said, this puts Wilson ahead of Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, and Matt Stafford, as far as earnings are concerned.

The contract allegedly took four days to negotiate, but will apparently lock the 30-year-old down with the Seahawks until the 2023 season. Wilson has been a part of the Seahawks team since the 2012 draft
