Robert Connely Farr Discloses A Fresh Single “Ain’t No Other Way”

Robert Connely Farr is back with a great fresh breeze of sonic music called “Ain’t No Other Way.” Robert Connely Farr is a unique vocalist and songwriter from Bolton, Mississippi, who strives to create something different and music beyond a generalized genre.

“Ain’t No Other Way” comes from Robert Connely Farr’s ninth studio album, “Shake It,” which consists of 9 songs with a playtime of 30 minutes.

It conveys three of Farr’s mentor’s music covers, Charley Patton’s “Screaming & Hollering,” Jimmy “Duck” Holmes’s “Going Away To Leave You,” and Tommy McClennan’s “Sugar Mama.” Followed by six originals composed by Farr himself.

Robert Connely Farr conversed with us and answered our distinctive 8 Questions. Check it out below.

    1. So tell us, how did it all begin? What encouraged you to start playing and making music?

I began reading a lot as a kid – I’d read everything. I eventually started writing poetry and then picked up a guitar. I dabbled in songwriting before moving to Vancouver, but it didn’t take hold until a year after I moved to Canada.

I met a few local Vancouver songwriters who took me under their wing and encouraged me. Then a decade later, I met #JimmyDuckHolmes, and he challenged me to immerse myself in the music of my home around Bolton and Benton, Mississippi.

    That was life-changing.

    1. Talk me through your creative process when you write new music.

I pick up a guitar, and a song comes out. I don’t go looking – I play and try to remain open and curious. I’ve always learned to record when I’m playing the guitar – for instance, I released a single last year, “Ain’t Enough” If I didn’t have my recorder on when I was playing that day – I wouldn’t have that song. It came out that quickly.

    1. Can you tell us about your new single, “Ain’t No Other Way”?

I wrote that song for my wife. I can’t see a life without her in it. In a lot of ways – she’s my muse. That song is about overcoming tough times and coming to the other side. I’m grateful for her and what she’s brought to my life.

    1. What do you like most about being a music artist?

I love songwriting – it’s how I process things. I’m not big on playing live. I’ve never toured. For me, it’s all about the song- it’s always been.

    1. What projects do you have coming up? Can you give us any info on them?

Right now, we’re just working on this new album. We have a few placements from #DirtySouthBlues and #CountrySupper in Snowpiercer & Resident Alien that we’re super stoked about. We want to work on the licensing/film/sync with our music. We will head into the studio again in early 2023 to work on the follow-up for #shakeIT.

    1. Do you have any tips for readers attempting to break into the music industry?

Keep on, be curious, and look to the elders before us for inspiration, but most of all, find people you enjoy doing this with. I have a small team of inspirational creators, and we handle everything from start to finish – I couldn’t do it without them.

    1. Can you provide advice on managing productivity and scheduling, as well as dealing with overwhelming situations?

I try to keep a good attitude and stay curious – don’t get married to ideas of outcomes. Listen to others and remain teachable. My band is always working on songs – even in the studio. Everything we record is live off the floor. Sometimes we change songs/tempos, and keys… / on the fly.

    1. Name Three things you can’t live without when recording in the studio.

    Food – burritos, preferably
