Remy Ma and Safaree are the latest celebrities to have a lawsuit breathing down their necks.
According to TMZ, both rappers are being sued by The Circle Foundation for violating the terms of their contract. The Foundation claims that upon signing along the dotted line, both Remy and Safaree agreed to not perform within 60 miles of the venue, leading up to the show. However, both rappers ignored requests.
The Circle Foundation aims to help mentor youth in Chicago area. However, just before the benefit concert to help those youth, Remy did a show at the Black Women’s expo in Chicago, while Safaree put on a show at the Rockin’ Horse Saloon & Grill. In the agreement, any performance within 60 miles was forbidden during the 30 days leading up to showtime.
Now The Circle Foundation wants their money back. They apparently paid Remy $35,000, and paid Safaree $7,250. all of which they want a reimbursement for, as well as damages. The only issue is that they haven’t gotten a single dime back from either rapper. When asked about what taking so long, Remy‘s attorney claimed his client was unaware of the legal action being taken against her.
There’s no word on Safaree’s excuse.
