Rapper Drake is a huge basketball fan. He supports the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat and Toronto Raptors, among others. He has also teamed up with the NBA and is committed to a social justice campaign called Calm, which promotes mental health.
He has a net worth of $180 million and is the eighth richest musician in Forbes’s list, behind the likes of Kanye West, Dr. Dre, Emimen and P. Diddy.
The Canadian rap artist first made a name for himself in the music industry when he appeared on the popular teenage drama Degrassi: The Next Generation, but he was only able to make a living in the rap world after he signed with Lil Wayne’s label Young Money Entertainment. The Los Angeles Lakers star surpassed the long-standing mark of 38,387 points in a game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, making him the all-time leading scorer in the league’s history.
As James passed Kareem’s record, rappers like Drake, Lil Wayne and Kendrick Lamar congratulated him for the historic feat. Rihanna also sent her well wishes to the basketball star, announcing that she was “so grateful to witness this moment in history.”

A Compton native, Kendrick Lamar Duckworth was born on June 17, 1987. His parents moved to the city from Chicago as part of an effort to escape their gang-affiliated community and bring their son up in a more wholesome environment.
He started rapping at age 16 and began circulating mix tapes, eventually gaining fame as K-Dot. He was introduced to the music business by Dr. Dre, a renowned producer and mentor of his generation.
Released in 2012, his debut album “good kid, m.A.A.d city” achieved immediate success. It debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 and yielded hits such as “Swimming Pools (Drank)” and “Poetic Justice.”
