    Rappers and Artists Congratulate LeBron For Breaking the NBA Scoring Record

    Rappers Rihanna, Drake, Lil Wayne and Kendrick Lamar congratulated LeBron James on his historic scoring record. The NBA star surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s decades-old all-time record on Tuesday night.

    He has a net worth of $180 million and is the eighth richest musician in Forbes’s list, behind the likes of Kanye West, Dr. Dre, Emimen and P. Diddy.

    The Canadian rap artist first made a name for himself in the music industry when he appeared on the popular teenage drama Degrassi: The Next Generation, but he was only able to make a living in the rap world after he signed with Lil Wayne’s label Young Money Entertainment.     The world was in awe of LeBron James on Tuesday night when the superstar basketball player broke Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s NBA scoring record. The Los Angeles Lakers star surpassed the long-standing mark of 38,387 points in a game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, making him the all-time leading scorer in the league’s history.

    As James passed Kareem’s record, rappers like Drake, Lil Wayne and Kendrick Lamar congratulated him for the historic feat. Rihanna also sent her well wishes to the basketball star, announcing that she was “so grateful to witness this moment in history.”

    Lil Wayne is a popular rapper with over 100 million records sold worldwide, known for his hip-hop style and iconic dreadlocks.

    His career began in 1997 when he formed the hip hop group Hot Boys with Juvenile, Turk and B.G. They released two albums, Get It How U Live and Guerilla Warfare.

    He went on to release a number of singles and mixtapes as well as his debut solo album Tha Block Is Hot (1999) which was a major breakthrough for the rapper.     After leaving his high school, Wayne began to focus on his musical career and later signed with Cash Money Records in 1996. He met Brian ‘Baby’ Williams and Ronald ‘Slim’ Williams and they were impressed with his freestyle skills.

    The rapper’s success with ‘Tha Carter’ and ‘Tha Carter II’ in 2004 was significant. The latter featured the hit single ‘Fireman’ and he was able to build upon his already impressive reputation.

    After releasing his sixth studio album, ‘Tha Carter III’ in 2008, the rapper continued to enjoy success until 2011. He had been working on his twelfth album, ‘Tha Carter V’ for several years and has announced that it will be released later this year.

    Kendrick Lamar

    In celebration of Lebron James’ historic achievement on Tuesday (February 7) – breaking Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s record for points in an NBA game – hip-hop artists were out in full force to congratulate him. From Drake and Kendrick Lamar to JAY-Z and even Rihanna, rappers from all corners of the industry were lauding Lebron on social media for his historic performance.

    A Compton native, Kendrick Lamar Duckworth was born on June 17, 1987. His parents moved to the city from Chicago as part of an effort to escape their gang-affiliated community and bring their son up in a more wholesome environment.

    He started rapping at age 16 and began circulating mix tapes, eventually gaining fame as K-Dot. He was introduced to the music business by Dr. Dre, a renowned producer and mentor of his generation.

    Released in 2012, his debut album “good kid, m.A.A.d city” achieved immediate success. It debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 and yielded hits such as “Swimming Pools (Drank)” and “Poetic Justice.”

    The following year, Lamar returned to a more jazz-flavored sound with To Pimp A Butterfly, which received widespread acclaim for its funk-laden mix of bravura, community politics and vulnerability. It was hailed as a major breakthrough for the artist, and he was nominated for an impressive 11 Grammy Awards.

    Having toured with other artists such as SZA and Jay Rock, Lamar also produced the soundtrack for Black Panther: The Album (2018). He was a co-producer and featured on three of the album’s singles, including “All the Stars” and “King’s Dead,” both of which reached the Top Ten.

    Lamar has collaborated with many other musicians in his career, including Bilal and Snoop Dogg. He has also worked with producers like Sounwave, who has been a mainstay at Top Dawg Entertainment for about a decade.
