Racism and Camila Cabello go Hand-in-Hand

That Apology Isn’t Going to Save You, Camila Cabello

Camila Cabello seems to not realize the power of the internet. Last night on twitter old Tumblr posts of hers resurfaced where she was caught using racist remarks when she was younger. This isn’t the first time she has faced backlash for her actions.

Camila Cabello posted her apology on twitter after deleting the posts off of her Tumblr page. This is what she had to say:

When I was younger, I used language I’m deeply ashamed of and will regret forever. [Camila Cabello] was uneducated and ignorant and once I became aware of the history and the weight and the true meaning behind this horrible and hurtful language, I was deeply embarrassed I ever used it. I apologized then and I apologize again now. I would never intentionally hurt anyone and I regret it from the bottom of my heart. As much as I wish I could, I can’t go back in time and change things I said in the past. But once you know better, you do better and that’s all I can do.”Racism and Camila Cabello-1

“I’m 22 now. I’m an adult and I’ve grown and learned and am conscious and aware of the history and the pain it carries in a way I wasn’t before. Those mistakes don’t represent the person I am or a person I’ve ever been. I only stand and have ever stood for love and inclusivity, and my heart has never, even then, had any ounce of hate or divisiveness. The truth is I was embarrassingly ignorant and unaware. I use my platform to speak out against injustice and inequality and I’ll continue doing that. I can’t say enough how deeply sorry and ashamed I feel, and I apologize again from the bottom of my heart.”

There is no excuse for these actions.

Her actions are not acceptable of someone that is an influence on young children all around the world. A lot of these kids are very impressionable. Therefore people such as Wendy Williams and K. Michelle felt it was necessary to make it known that actions like hers are not going to go by without some harsh words.

At the age of 15 you understand the language that you use could hurt someone. To make it worse it was not just her use of foul language but also the images that she posted as well.Racism and Camila Cabello-3

The image attached is only an example of some of the terrible things that she has posted. If you look at her Tumblr you won’t find anything. That doesn’t mean twitter didn’t get their hands on some screenshots.

Her new album Romance just released. She thought that publicity would be surrounded by the album. Twitter had different plans
